Borst Bloembollen BV is located in Obdam. From this location we are engaged in the production and processing of approximately 120 hectares of tulips in 700 different cultivars. Borst Bloembollen specializes in the propagation and introduction of new tulip cultivars. The tulips are grown in West Friesland, Flevoland, Noord-Oostpolder, New Zealand and Chile. These locations are ideal for growing tulip bulbs.
The bulbs that are grown are available for both export and own hatchery. By making use of different geographical cultivation areas we create a spread in the assortment in order to always be able to produce fresh tulips flowers.
25 million tulips are grown every year, in about 140 different cultivars, in the months from October to May. With this we focus on the heavy tulip segment of the market. Primary use is made of potting soil and supplemented by water heating.
By using our modern production spaces and processes, we can deliver the highest quality tulips in both bulbs and flowers.
During the Tulip Trade Event, upon appointment at the twelve locations, local and international visitors will be treated to a stunning overview of what the Dutch bulb exporters have on offer.
